This collections of hats had been boxed up in my mother-in-law’s attic for years. She had forgotten they were there until we rediscovered them one afternoon when we were cleaning out the attic. They belonged to her grandmother. Seeing them again brought back sweet memories of time spent with her as a child.

I really didn’t want to tuck them back into their boxes and put them on a shelf again. While she was downstairs preparing supper, my sister-in-law and I took down the display of high school awards that was on the wall and replaced them with the hats. I was a little worried that we had just redecorated the space without asking her first, but she loved it! Now every time she walks through that hallway she can see and enjoy them.  

Treasured items shouldn’t be left in boxes!  Find a way to enjoy them!
