Bedrooms & Closets

Teenager's Closet Challenge
My 13-year-old daughter's closet was always out of control, and laundry was a huge problem for her! Since she is a visual organizer, putting things in a dresser doesn't work. Her shoe rack, however, was working because she could see her shoes and easily put them away.

Teenager's Closet Solution!
Since she's a visual organizer, we implemented a bin system instead of a dresser to store clothes. Now putting her laundry away is as easy as dropping it in a bin – no folding required. Her laundry basket is easy to access, so dirty clothes don't pile up on the floor.

Owner's Closet - Hers
We did a big declutter and found better homes for some of the things on her side of the master bedroom closet including photos, décor, and some clothing. We added wall hooks for hats and jewelry. And we reused baskets for storing seldom-used items. A few new bins now store clothing that was on the shelf.

Owner's Closet - His
Stacks of clothes that don't stay stacked and shoes scattered on the floor make a closet look messy. So, on his side of the master bedroom closet we purged some clothes and used bins for remaining clothing. A shoe organizer got the shoes off the floor. We also cleared the top shelf for seldom-used items.

His & Hers Closet Organization
Their closet had become a drop zone for items that really didn't belong. We decluttered and found better places for those things to create an organized master bedroom closet.
